I met a girl today on campus who didn't know what the conflict of Roe Versus Wade. . . I am so disappointed in our educational system. Whether you like abortion or not, it was a very very important moment in history. This is the same as women I've met who had no idea what the 19th Amendment was! I am so furious. . . America you disappoint me.

When people mix up their "they're", "their", and "there" I become extremely peeved.
I do agree that the 19th amendment mix-up is just wrong. It's part of our country, our history, our background. As a citizen, you should know your amendments. At least, as a college student in this day and age... there is something very wrong with our schools if you don't.
America has a horrible... stupidity and illiteracy level. There are people who can't point out the United States on a map- and they LIVE there!

People wonder why I'm so disappointed by other students my age. Goodness.

Because people are stupid. It is so astounding how low our education level is.

It really is. It's that damn "No Child Left Behind" act, instead of raising the bar it's severely lowered it.

Yes! Now, I'm not completely against it... I understand that you shouldn't just... blatantly ignore every child who doesn't immediately show an extreme intelligence or interest, but
some of the kids... they go through school not caring, they graduate not caring and they live the rest of their lives throwing away the little they DID learn. And it's disgusting. Either do something that will FORCE them to pull their minds out of their television screens, or stop.
Understandably, you do have to give people a second chance, or change things up. Not everyone is perfect. Circumstances are what they are.

But honestly.
Some of the things I've seen... the stupidity!

Very true, I just hate how it holds back the kids who are smarter than that. They need to find a middle balance. What is even more annoying is how we're paying taxes for fat slobs who contribute nothing to society.

I'm not going to call anyone a "fat slob"-
I believe that saying that is unnecessary hatred, and a bit discriminatory... but I do agree that it's hard to work for yourself when there are people not contributing and only dragging things back.

I try not to be too mean, but this has always been a touchy subject for me.

It's a lot better than the more common their there and they're thing.

I find it more offensive that someone wouldn't know what the 19th Amendment was, "their, there, they're" is a common mistake, and I know I'm dyslexic so sometimes my brain switches em up.

Maddie
